Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone ever feels "puffy" after their Remicade infusions. I always feel like my hands and feet are swollen, and I get a puffy feeling in my face. Occasionally, a little short of breath a few days after. I've had blood tests and It says I'm NOT developing Remicade antibodies. My lungs are always clear. Does anyone get fluid retention? If so, do you do anything about
it? It's so uncomfortable.... Julie

You could possibly have fluid retention. They give me at least half of a bag of fluids with mine, so if you are normally well hydrated and then get the extra fluids on top, I would think it is possible. I guess I have never paid much attention to it. When I eat alot of salty foods, I'll notice my hands are puffy, but I have never paid attention to see if it goes with my remicade infusions or not. Maybe I'm baming the food, and it's not the food. I'll definitely be paying attention now!

Thanks, Chroniemomx2! I don't eat much salt, but I'll watch out for it.

Yes, I know the puffiness you are talking about
. I did the same thing on Remicade. My gi just kept a watch on me because I was already on diurectics. Susie

I am new to Remicade, just had my 3rd infusion. However, I have noticed the puffiness. More in my hands, fingers and feet. I have also noticed that I have gained some weight, not greatly, but enough that I can really tell - 7-10 pounds. Have you had that as well?

Hokie, I've gained about
20 pounds in one year since being on Remicade.

I guess I was one of the lucky ones, I did not gain weight, I lost weight. I was on Remicade about
3 1/2yrs every 4 wks. Susie
