Visit to eye doctor; another piece to this really dumb puzzle of ours?

Just a normal eye check up ...while he is looking he is saying "WoW,WoW,WoW"
finally I said "you are scaring me, why are you saying WoW?"

After he takes a pic of the inside of my eyes he pulls it up on his computer and shows me the outside of my eye - i think he was talking abut the scleara (sp?) ...I asked him to write it down but we both forgot - so I have to wait till monday to call the office and get the exact name of it ...he said it was some sort of disease where this part of the eye was disintergrating ....and when it finally happens it will be extremely painful...and there is no treatment until it happens ...he says that there are only about 10-15% of the population who get this ...and he has seen it before but never like mine ...hense the WoW's .....

So, I am feeling really bad ...the diarrhea is back after years of C, my touche is hurting so badly ... I am under so much stress at work ..then I hear that my eyes are going to fall apart...my teeth are breaking ... I would really like this all to end , there is no where else i can admit to that except here ...so thanks just for being here HW friends ...

oh no, that sounds like a lot to take at once!  I am sorry for your bad news - will you go get a second opinion to check out your eye?

some days it does seem so overwhelming, with pain and work and stress and having to deal with the same issues over and over again.  Things will get better! :)

So sorry you have to deal with all this Misterie. When my eye doctor told me I had glaucoma, on top of Crohns, and other maladies, I was disgusted with life. What is the prognosis after it happens, is there a treatment ???

My goodness I'm sorry to hear you're having such a rough time of it. Please let us know the name of the problem when you call the office...I suffer from eye problems too from the crohn's and that makes me nervous that there are other potential issues to watch out for. I have about 3 eye flares a year that need prednisone drops (or if really bad, oral prednisone, dialating drops, pred drops and one other I can't remember what it does). So far it's usually iritis, which is quite painful and can be vision threatening if ignored. My eye seems to predict my flares. Hopefully now that I'm on remicade the incidents will decrease. Please let us know your prognosis with this problem. Hopefully there is some sort of treatment.

Hi I know it is quite frustrating to have eye problems with all the other stuff I been having some with mine lately and it sometimes feels like too much. I have an apppointment later on in May. Are there treatment for your problem? What part is effected? Gee hope you are doing OK and stay in touch. I don't know if others have had much problems or not the GI doesn't think my problem is CD related so I"ll have to see how things go . Hang in there. lol gail
