Anyone have strictures and/or obstructions before and during pregnancy? I'd love the hear your experience and resolutions, if any. Do they get worse during pregnancy?

In 1983 I was diagnosed with Crohn's while undergoing an exploratory surgery to find out why I had an obstruction. I was 5 months pregnant at the time. They told me when I awoke I had crohn's and that they had released the band of obstruction and wanted to put me on prednisone and try to ease the stricture. Unfortunately in November and my 7th month the obstruction was back and I had a resection done. My son was born in February healthy by C-Section and is now 24 and healthy as a horse.
My second pregnancy went great, my third was a premature delivery but she was also healthy and is now 19.
Some say they (strictures) get better cause you eat better...others say they get worse. I was just very very sick for a long time before I ever got pregnant and it took my OBGYN to believe my symptoms and take action.

Wow! I'm so glad you shared that, especially cause your kids older so you know for sure how they were affected.
Is it very common that pregnant women can have crohn's surgery and have healthy babies?
