Hi,

 I am new to this forum. I should probably start of by telling you my diagnosis. I was diagnosed with IBD near the end of 2006 and my doctor was leaning towards Crohn's and still is however it is not 100%. I have been on Salofalk tablets (5-ASA) ever since. In mid April of this year I had a flare up, however I am getting better each day.

I have been looking at Aloe Vera pills (AloeElite) for the last couple of months, and I was wondering if anyone has tried AloeElite and what the outcome was. I have searched the forum for this topic but I would like hear from people who have tried AloeElite.

I haven't gotten an official diagnosis yet but just started taking AloeElite anyway because it seemed low risk and a healthy thing to do. So far no side effects but it's too soon to know if it is helping. (I started yesterday.) I Googled AloeElite and it lead me to a thread on this site that had a lot of really helpful info. I hope you can find the thread also.

My husband bought me some, but I never took it. I read something negative somewhere and now I can't recall where it was. I do take a good Probiotic and I can tell the difference if I skip it. One with each meal.

I have read many times that Aloe has a laxative effect.  Perhaps that is the negative issue that kept you from taking the Aloe pills?  I know most of us here do not want or need more trips to the bathroom.

The link I mentioned above deals with the laxative effect of straight Aloe. This component is not present in the AloeElite - that's why it's so expensive. Day 2 and I'm still hopeful that it will help - so far it's not hurting.

HI Guys,

I have decided to try AloeElite, however I have one question.

First, should I still keep on taking my regular amount of Salofalk(5-ASA) (4 tabs twice a day), or should I reduce or stop them?

Whatever you do, don't change your rx meds without talking to your Dr. If the AloeElite helps, that might be the time to reduce your Salofalk if your Dr. agrees.

Hope it helps and keep me informed, I'm always looking for something that will help.

Hi,

I just thought I would give an update. I have been on AloeElite for almost 3 weeks with some change. I still have symptons. Not sure if it is working. I am going to stick with it at least for another month.

OT: AzJohnny, stop hurting my brain with your crazy signature! I mean I've seen some that make me do a double take, but never one that literally *HURT* my brain before...Ouch man... With my ADHD that sig is sure to keep repeating itself over... and over and over... until they come to take me away.....
