HalfLytely and Bisacodyl - colonoscopy tomorrow

I have to do a colonocopy tomorrow, so I'm doing HalfLytely this evening.  When I picked the HalfLytely up from the pharmacy, the kit included two Bisacodyl (laxative) tablets.  When I've done HalfLytely in the past, it was just the jug that you fill with water, not any tablets.  I'm wondering if I really need the tablets - I have D all the time, so I really don't need a stool softener to assist with the bowel prep.  The HalfLytely has been sufficient for my other bowel preps, I don't want to take the laxatives if I don't need to. 

Also, I have to drink a bottle of Mag Citrate a few hours before leaving for the hospital tomorrow morning.  It seems like my bowels will be squeaky clean!

What do you all think?  Have laxative pills come with your HalfLytely or GoLytely prescription kits?

The pills that come with HalfLytely are the same as Dulcolax. They provide the pills so you only drink Half as much of the drink stuff. I think people had such a hard time drinking the huge volume of GoLytely that they made this HalfLytely. If you want to skip the pills you really should talk to your doctor's office first. My dad went for a c-scope and they sent him home because he wasn't cleaned out enough. Would hate to see you need to do the prep twice. I hope it goes well for you tonight Ladybug!! Blessings!

I would take the pills, my prep included them and I was clean. I agree with AlwaysRosie, don't want to be sent home because you did not prep well. good luck!!! Karen

i had d up to 20 times a day and i took my pills. those suckers kicked in in about 45 minutes! and let me tell you, i swear those pills were like scrubby bubbles ..i could not believe what they cleared out :X
