blood after Humira injection

I've just (two minutes ago) done my Humira injection, and there is bleeding at the injection site.

I checked the needle before injecting, as you're supposed to, and there was no blood in the syringe. The bleeding started after I withdrew the syringe. Is that ok, or have I botched the injection?

Not sure how much blood you are talking, but I always get a little pinprick of blood at the injection site. I hold a cotton pad over it with pressure for a minute or two, and then it stops.

There is a MyHumira nurse hotline that you can call -- they would probably be able to give you some answers.

You most likely hit a capillary. A capillary is a small blood vessel not much wider than a red blood cell. The body is loaded with capillaries as they carry blood to the tissue. No harm, no damage, and you did not botch anything. Apply a little pressure until the bleeding stops.

Ah, didn't realize you were not in the U.S.

Sounds like you have a plausible answer, but if you have other questions, there is a MyHumira website, and you may be able to get questions answered via email.

I get a bit of blood, but just like a normal shot.

I use the pens, and it get a bit of bleeding for a couple mins afterward.
