Thanks everyone. My husband and I decided I should not go. It is just too last minute and we have way too many complications. Belle your post was great. I would have landed at midnight on Sunday, had a 45 minute drive home, and had to be back at work at 8:30am on Monday. I am going camping later this month and I am driving w/ my hubby to SC to see his family July 3rd. I really can't afford to miss work right now.
It just seemed like way too much money to spend for such a short trip too. Financially it would not be a wise decision. As a summer employee I also don't have paid sick/vacation time so I take a cut from my income w/ each day I take off. My dog is also a rescue and really can't stay at a kennel. I have never tried but she has seperation anxiety and is petrified of men (will shake and pee). So I only leave her with trusted friends or family when I go away and it is just such short notice to spring on my dear neighbor.
My most recent trips (Singapore, Phuket, DC) were most definitly worth it!! My last flight to Vegas, not as much. But I was also very sick then.
Crohns wise I have been well lately but I have been feeling off the last couple days. Part of me thinks it is my BC. My doc has been switching it around to lower side effects. It could be this heat wave, it could be the flu other people at my office have had. I would hate to fly out there and then puke all weekend.
I did find more xanax (I had a refill for my last flight I didn't use). But, I am so afraid of flying that it usually takes me a lot of mental preparation to do it. My flight back would involve a Jet Blue layover in JFK (where they frequently have the problem of sitting on the tarmac for hours with no bathroom access). Worrying about that alone sucks.
I had been looking forward to this weekend alone to sunbathe and catch up on sleep and get a haircut. Thats what I'll be doing. I wouldn't call this one crohns holding me back. Just a lot of life stuff piled up holding me back lol. Its too bad because if they had told him ahead of time that it wasn't "just the guys" we could have planned accordingly and made it work.
