I was very sick with Crohn's complicated by Salmonella for close to a year, but I have been feeling dramatically better the past couple of months. In the process of trying to get well, I restricted my diet. I didn't follow Maker's or SCD exactly, but I restricted fats, esp fried food, avoided processed food, raw veggies, nuts, corn, and eat very little gluten. I have found that I can eat fresh fruit again, and I can eat limited lowfat cheese. I am afraid to jinks myself, but I almost feel like I am in remission. I don't know if my limited diet was responsible for me feeling better, or if the disease is just doing better on its own. I can't decide whether or not to try expanding my diet, or to enjoy feeling well and leave well enough alone! I would love to hear from some of you experienced Crohnnies out there on how you made these decisions. There are a ton of foods I really miss, but I'm terrified of backsliding into feeling so ill all over again. Any insight/ advice would be greatly appreciated!
