New pain, but not constant - only when I go to the bathroom. In my lower right back, I get almost a gas-like pain when I am on the potty. Anyone else have that? Also, I am technically in a flare-up, if that helps.
Thanks!

I've had the same thing when going through a flare-up...I kinda chalked mine up to the "D" that goes along with my flare-ups...
It might be worth a call to the Dr. though to be safe...

Kam, I think you might be right with the gas like pain, gas pain can almost attack you anywhere. However, if the pain becomes
constant, and /or worsens, you might need to get a urinalysis done. UTI, or kidney stones can give lower back pain....

Hi Kam, I had that a week ago for a few days, it is from flaring, and I have lower right quad front side pain most of the time. When it flares it does ache, and something awful, so I feel your pain. Since I am on Prednisone now the pain is gone..However
Dunny2 is right. I have had 4 kidney stones and they dont have to be high up. If if persists, you should have an xray, it will rule out kidney stones. Good luck, keep us updated. Hugs!

I had been diagnosed with CD for several years. Treatment on and off with prednisone. Developed severe Lt sided back pain. no relief from narcotics. Then developed fever. Long story short, had a perforated bowel that adhered to pelvic wall. Diagnosed with barium enema after mutiple scans. Could not tolerate sigmoidoscopy because of pain. Surgery (bowel resection ileum and colon - don't remember how much. During surgery found multiple fistula and inflammation. Was free from symptoms for 10 years. Thanks to a wonderful surgeon (and team) who spent 7 long hours to lift the bowel for resection and did not have a colostomy. Have been told that back pain can often be referred pain from CD complication. All the advanced testing led docs to think cancer. The old standby by barium enema gave the answer. Kind of rare, but as the surgeon says, always keep in mind CD flare/complications with back pain that does not quit.Just something for the backs of our minds to make sure it gets ruled out. Good luck. Hope it is nothing so serious.
