 I am sending you Keith and you as well hun my Healing thoughts and Prayers for a safe and quick recovery

Keith has just gotten home from hospital and does need our prayers and well wishes as does Dunny

Keep us posted and to get him back to hospital asap if anything does happen........

Lyn, bless your heart... I'm sitting here watching him sleep right now. My goodness, he looks ghastly, BUT, he says he's fine!

He will look that pasty colr til his blood comes back up ( the iron)
I am sure

I know my Cait is very deficient in Iron and even takes the pills but some mornings OMG it really scares the bejeebers outta me

Hi Vicky I'am sure you can breathe a little better now ,how does he feel about getting home? Nothing like a welcoming home to the old familiar sheets or even the couch .lol gail

Hi Gail, you're dead right about the sheets. He went to bed and wept. I thought he was hurting, but no, just so happy to be
in his bed!!
I'm really having a hard time trying to understand why he's home. With my surgeries, they wouldn't let me go til about the 7th
day. Go figure.
Right now I think he's thinking about his own mortality. I guess having a close call can do that to you. Probably that's why I'm
questioning his early discharge. I think insurance plays a big part. When they moved him out of ICU, he was told that the ins. co. wouldn't pay for
any longer. Sometimes I think it's a truly sad world we live in...
Oh I forgot to tell you guys, when they removed his epidural, it was badly kinked, no wonder he was in so much pain!!!

As far as me, I'm ok I guess, very tired, and diarrhea is on the up, but on the whole, not too bad.....

Hi Vicky seems that is the way it is sometimes they really do try to get a person home quicker I have heard of a person who had heart surgery and was sent home after not many days try not to stress Vicky being home might bring him around quicker. Is he taking anything to bring his blood to better levels. So your getting more D at least now you have the luxuary of being on your own toilet now. That can be a comfort. Tears of relief are great aren't they? Sometimes it surprises us how much we love being home. Rest will be good for him did you have far to drive home? lol gail

Glad to here you both are home....now curl right up in there next to him and rest yourself too! I'm sure all of this has been grueling! Best to the both of you!

Vicky continuing to keep you and Keith in my prayers. I agree with Broom, you go curl up on that bed right next to him and get some rest yourself. We love you and want you both to get well soon. God Bless you both!

Vicky, you are both in my thoughts and prayers. Do try and get some rest when he is sleeping. Are you getting any follow up visits from the health nurse or post- surgery somebody? Are there neighbors that can run errands for you? Do you have a church community that you are close to? I know you are strong... but its important for you not to be afraid to ask for help.... you may never be able to pay that person back directly but you just pay it forward when you can.
In any case... we are all here.... It is good that he is in his own bed. I used to be a Reg. Nurse in hospital for years, then public health nursing.... people DO get better much faster at home...plus there is the decreased risk of potential infections from longer stays in hospitals...they are the breeding grounds for all kinds of dandy bacteria and viruses..... He is already immune to the bacteria he is used to at home. Safer in the long run.
I know when I was bedridden for a long while, my girls went out and rented the funniest movies they could find. they pulled up chairs next to my bed and I laughed my way to better health.
