Goodmorning, and I hope everyone is feeling good!
I am very sceptical these last few days. After 16 years of working in the same company, I applied for a new job to another company (american insurance company) which also has offices here in Athens. I have many ex-colleagues working there now, so things look good. Don't get me wrong, I like my current job, but I feel it's time to move on, now that my children have grown up, and I have more time to focus on my career. I don't want to let this disease ruin my dreams and my plans for a better future, and since - at least for now - I am capable of working full time, I want to try....
My questions are the following:
1) Do you tell your new employer about Crohns?
2) Am I wrong for wanting something better for my career?
Of course if they hire me, I will have to give details about my health anyway, in order for them to include me in the group health policy they have. So I guess they will find out anyway, but I don't know if I have to tell them during my first interview.
My current job offers me great insurance, but also the american company offers great insurance programs to its employees, plus I will be paid 25% more than my current salary.
I would be greatful if you all gave me your thoughts, after all I consider you my cyber-family!! (My husband says go for it)
Have a beautiful day,
Christina
