LMills, I have been on Humira for about 2 1/2 months. I started it after trying Remicade (allergic reactions and antibodies developed after a year) and Cimzia (did a clinical trial for about a year and it kept my Crohn's in remission but still had a lot of arthritis problems).
I decided to switch to Humira to see if it would help more with the arthritis and I've got to say that it hasn't. I believe that I'm having a flare up, but it is much more mild than ones I had in the past, before and when I was on Remicade. My doctors can get Humira approved for more than once every 2 weeks and nothing else we've tried in addition to it seems to be helping any.
I have talked to my GI about going back on Cimzia, but it is only available once a month and I used to get it every 2 weeks on the clinical trial I was on. Even then, it wore off a couple of days before the 2 weeks was up...there is no way I could make it a month on it. So, for now, I am staying on Humira and just hoping that things improve somehow.
