possible obstruction?

Hey guys, of course thanx everyone out there as this has been my lifeline, anyhow, sudden sharp pain 4 inches to the left of my navel. Different pain than I've ever had. How long can someone go with an obstruction before it's life threatening. I have a stupid small bowel follow through tomorrow so I think I'll make it through the night, but just worried that I'll have to be admitted if I am obstructed. No one has ever told me I have been so I'm not sure. Update on pain meds. The DR. gave me the patch but the steroids have been working so I have been able to get by with the Darvon or Dilaudid and Ultram. I'll save the patches for the next time when I want to die. I'm not sure if the patch will work as the heavier drugs don't seem to do much for me, they all act like I'm crazy when I say I don't get much relief with the morphine or Oxycontin. I think I will ask for like Codeine or something. The Darvon minus acetaminophen was perfect for me and worked great but I think after 5 years I have built up a tolerance for them and just aren't working like they used to. Still no pain clinic though, I really want just someone who will believe me and help me with this aspect of the disease. I see my primary Dr also tomorrow so I will ask again if she will look into it. The last time we spoke she said she wasn't aware of any pain management place for me. Frustrating. I feel so stinking rotten and have been such a raving b#@ch, steroids the love hate relationship. Geesh I'm not passing much gas which is why I think I'm having problems and this sharp stabbing pain in the one spot, feels like everything is just stopped at that point. God I hope I make it through the night. Is there anything I should watch for? Well thanks for listening and being there, Dawn☼
