Last night my eye was itching, no big deal. I rubbed it and then my eyelid puffed up. Really thought it was just allergies. Until I woke up at 5 am with the palm of my hand hurting, real low by my wrist. A little red and puffy as well. Exact same thing happened in May when I flared. I'm taking benedryl as my doc told me to, when this happened in May. I'll be calling in the morning to get in to see him. I need him to check my sed rates again. Last time this happened they were through the roof. Shortly after these wierd swelling starts the D, cramping kicks in. I already did have D on Thursday pretty badly as it was. I do have pred on me, but would like to get my blood taken first before taking any. However if the swelling gets worse anywhere, I'm afraid I'll be reaching for it.
I'm very upset. I don't get this swelling thing, and why it's connected to Crohn's. Why can't I just get D and pain like everyone else? Like that isn't bad enough, without all this weird swelling. I still wonder if it is something else, something worse. I'm sitting here scared that it may go to my throat or something, even though it never had yet. Last time it went from my foot, my hand, thumb, and then my lip. So far it's my eyelid, and now my hand.
Just a nightmare. I just got off the pred in August, hate to go back on it, and obviously if I flare back up just 2 months later it isn't doing the job of keeping me in remission for very long. Just discouraging. Why does these things always happen on a Sunday too?
