Pill endoscopy, LDN, Humira, and ME!!

Little Update here.

1. had a reaction to Humira and was taken off the drug by my MD. Last injection was Oct 1

2. Finally off Pred!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Been off since the end of sept. I flared quickly afterwards but used flagyl and cipro and have been feeling good since.

3. Since I was off the Humira, Pred, and antibiotics I gave LDN another shot.

Day 1 pain went from 8 to 3

Day 2 no pain and stools became semi formed.

Day 3 1 formed stool. 100% asymptomatic.

Day 4 I actually had to take a stool softner

Day 5 feeling great with tons of energy.

My GI was pissed off when I told him about the LDN, he just said its probabaly a placebo effect. So what if it is I said??

tomorrow I go for a pill endo just because it was already scheduled. No dummy pill just the real thing. If  it gets stuck I go to surgery. Either way if there is a stricture its gotta be fixed sometime.

Ill let you know how it goes.

Had the endo today. WOW was that easy!!

It took 2 mins to strap on the hardware and swallow the pill. I came back 8 hours later and they removed everything.

I only had to be NPO from 12 noon to 12 noon. Not bad at all. I still have no pain and had 2 bm's today. I didnt see the camera, but didnt really go looking for it!

Well see what happens. Thanks for the support.

I swallowed the pill cam on a Thursday. I had D at least 5 times a day starting Thursday afternoon but the pill cam didn't come out until late on Sunday. I don't know where it was for three days but there were no strictures or blockages.

UPDATE!!!

 

-I had a Capsule Endo on the 22nd.

-After the endo I felt like I was having more obstructions than usual but the pain was still at   bay thank god for LDN.

-No more daily D or daily pain ,just pain during obstructions. I continued to stay on liquids for the most part because solid foods would block me up.

RESULTS!!!!!!!!

Today I had 3 appointments. MRI for Lumbar spine, Capsule Endo results GI, and B12 injection. Busy day.

MRI. - I layed in the scanner to start the test and the tech came running in "you have metal in you somewhere" I knew then the camera was still in me~!

Had an xray - showed 1.1cm x 1.3 cm object in small bowel!!

Went to GI - He says its my decesion. Next wee I can have surgery or he can try to retreve it with a colonoscope..   

What would you do? If the camera is stuck there is a stricture that needs to be removed right?

Until the big decesion next week Im trying 80mg PRED for 3 days to see if it will pass..

Good grief Redspot. Im not sure what I would do in your situation after only having had a resection 9 months ago, I would be a bit reluctant for more, but I guess you have to do what the Dr.s think is best. Good luck with your decision and keep us posted.

Hi Redspot I would be going threw the poo with a fine tooth comb. I don't know but if you are obstructing I guess it makes your decision a little harder. What are you leaning towards here. lol gail
