OK I'll try and explain this the best I can without making it too long...
I have been on the implant for over 2 years so no periods (woohoo) I was in remission for that whole time as well, 4 months ago I had a flare which was all sorted til saturday when I came on my period (apparently periods can start again after 2 years on the implant, one of those things) and by saturday night I was in so much pain I nearly went to the hospital which says a lot for me as I am a major hospital-phobic. The pain isn't like menstrual cramps though (even though its been a while since I last had a period I can still remember) these pains are exactly the same as when I was late into my flare just before I was hospitalised which my IBD nurse said the symtoms suggested a couple of strictures as when these pains come on I have swelling in my ULQ and LRQ (the swelling in my ULQ distends my waist measurement by 4 inches) and the pain comes on in waves and makes me shake, go cold and weak, and mouth fill up with saliva etc (I don't know if I'm explaining it well, but those who've had strictures probably kinda get what I mean).
Thing is, since I got treated I have had normal blood results for 4 months, not a single symptom, been in perfect health literally til this period started and its just come on so sudden, usually symptoms as severe as this do not come on so suddenly with me I'd have had weeks of milder symptoms. Do you think its the period causing a flare up of symptoms? Or is that just a coincedence? Should I go to a doc or wait til the period ends? Or should I get something to stop the period? I'm just worried that I may have a partial blockage in a stricture or something which could be being masked but I just don't know, I don't know if any doctor will take me seriously about stomach pain while I'm still on but I am 100% certain it is intestinal pain, I just don't know whether to ride it out or get help sooner, please if anyone has any advice or ideas I'd be so so grateful, thankyou
