Not the kind you eat....but the phone type......
I just had a resection two weeks ago...spent about 36 hours in ICU and then I was sent to a regular room with lots of good strong pain killers (they gave me morphine and a self administrating clicker...that was the best!!!)
I hate to miss work and I really hate to be out of communication....I get and send well over 100 e-mails a day....another 3 or 4 dozen instant messages...and I get probably 20 to 30 phone calls per day from all over the USA, Canada, and the UK. So under regular conditions my Blackberry is a very important tool.
I am a pretty strong willed person so taking my Blackberry from me could be dangerous. Well...it should have been. I am back to work now and have already fielded about a dozen calls from concerned friends and customers all asking me if I am feeling better. Several have mentioned that I sent them e-mails or texts that were just too funny and too wild for words. major spelling mistakes, repeated words...half finished sentences...so far nothing damaging....but a word of warning: Never use your computer or Blackberry when you are on strong pain meds.......now I am hearing what I did and all the laughing is causing my stomach to hurt and I am out of meds......
Any other "lighter side of being human" things we shouldn't do while in the hospital or on major pain meds?????
