Aussiemale, I suspect with the cereal it could also be the sugar content that keeps your tummy upset, and I agree that the steak would definitely cause you a problem if you have a stricture.
One thing to consider is that diet change will help to reduce your symptoms but there have been many people here who have gone without eating a single thing for weeks or months on TPN (IV food) and yet their crohn's still flares, so it is possible that your crohn's will get better, but not quite stop altogether.
Regardless, I still think the symptom improvement I have from diet change makes the diet change completely worth it. I find my symptoms can become severe severe severe if I just eat anything I want.
I use digestive enzymes with almost every meal I eat, a multi-blend digestive enzyme that helps digest carbs, protein, dairy, the works. I also take a multi-blend probiotic every day. I am convinced without these I would be obstructing probably every day.
