Hello all...So I have been on the SCD diet for 2 months now...I will say that is absolutely has improved my digestive health...however I am having a hard time because I really am begaining to miss my carbs and simple things like cerial and soy milk in the am...I have lost about
10 lbs and have stayed at that weight...I am a 141 lbs and should be 151...my weight is not going back up and it really bothers me...

I've only been on SCD a week. However, I've read a lot about
how to gain weight on it. Virgin coconut oil is one way. Put a tablespoon of it in a smoothie. Avocados are another good one.
I have to go to a doctor's appt. now, but I'll post back later with some other weight gain tips I've read about
.

I know it's a struggle, but you have to find a way to keep going. Get creative (if you can) and you will not miss your carbs so much. My hubby used to make me home-made fried cheese sticks (legal cheese dipped in almond flour and fried. Homemade tomato sauce for dipping) and scd legal pizza. You probably won't be gaining any weight on SCD, but try to keep the perspective that at least you're not losing more weight. Hang in there!!!

Back up a step- you're holding steady at 141 after having started the diet, right? No additional weight loss?
Sugars are the key to gaining weight; paradoxically, we're told it's fat that does it, but that's not the case. Ingesting carbohydrates leads to an insulin pulse; insulin is an anabolic hormone- it *builds* things. Try a bit of honey with every meal, if you're not already- even just a spoonful of the stuff in tea or even a glass of water. Combine that with calorie-dense foods- lots of cheese, including dry curd cottage cheese if you can get it, eggs, bacon (yes, bacon! you can have bacon!), and meat. Every weekend, we have eggs and bacon; fry up the bacon, and cook the eggs in the grease.
Custard is excellent: cook up two blocks of dry curd cottage cheese plus 6-10 eggs until they reach a smooth texture. Add in a stick of butter. Flavor with honey and cinnamon to taste. Refrigerate and serve with blueberries. Great for snacks and breakfast.
Keep your chin up! The damage has to reverse itself in order to be able to absorb those precious calories. After three months, I was up 13 pounds for the first time since I got sick and started losing weight at a pound per week. Gah!

A teaspoon of honey after dinner is how I deal with my sugar addiction. Yum! I'm going to try making an SCD toffee this week too, as well as some lemond curd.
Have you tried making the cheesecake? It's really good! If you don't like the dry curd (I think it's quite tasty, myself), you can use all dripped yogurt.
Also, try making your yogurt with half and half.

Yes! I concur with the half and half for yogurt! I like it the best! Spooky, will you let me know how the SCD toffee goes?
You guys ALL had some great ideas here!

Sure EMom
. I just need to settle on which recipe I want to use.
Personally, I don't miss grains much (at least yet). I do miss milk. I used to have 3 glasses a day. It was easy nutrition for me, and now I'm actually having to eat
