Please tell me it is the flagyl that is making me go 20 times a day. Normal for me is atleast 6 since my surgery, but it seems that everyday I seem to go more and more. The past week I have been averaging 15 - 20. I don't want that to be my new norm!!
Does flagyl make everyone else go more often? Will it all slow down once I am off that stuff? I am on Cipro too, but I haven't had problems with D when I was on Cipro before.

It can happen with flagyl and cipro combo, (wonder if with that combo do you have cdiff infection? which would completely explain why you are going more, and it should get better once you finish all the meds) but when all else fails call your doc.

never thought of cdiff. I see the surgeon today at 4:00 to get the results of my ct to see about my drain. I will have to ask him about it.

How is cdiff treated anyways. I have never had these problems before.

flagyl seems to harden my stools when I take it its when I don't take it that the D gets out of hand. The med may have different effects on people. I had a resesction on the 5th of November, my doc placed me on flagyl to help prevent crohn's from coming back while I am healing from surgery.

Well I am done with the flagyl and cipro as of yesterday so I will see if the D slows down. Goodness I hope so!!!
I am still having some mild right sided pain, so I am going to call the dr on Monday. My CT on Wednesday looked good so I am not sure what is causing all this. I would think everything would be healed by now if my surgery was back on Oct 29th, even with the bleeding, etc I had afterwards. We shall see.

Hope it slows down...

Flagyl alone OR with Cipro, ALWAYS did me in..ALWAYS.. Plus, if I take any kind of antibiotic, I get a flare-up and D.

Hang in there.... once the course is over, hopefully it'll slow down. I'm not a big fan of Flagyl (bc of the D & Metallic Taste). I do better on Cipro alone, but it doesn't seem as aggressive/effective as Flagyl.
