Pic - is this amount of blood normal?

I do not have diarrhea or any pain at all. I just have blood. My doctor said it is normal with UC and Crohn's, but I am wondering what you think. I am on Asacol, iron tablets, and Prilosec now.

Do you feel tired ? , are you generally well

when did you start taking the pred again ? .. maybe it hasnt kicked in yet

what dose of aza are you taking , have you recently started taking this ?

if im having a flare i would normally see that amount of blood but i would also have some pain , be unsure if i need the loo , feel sweaty , anxious and have less energy

be interested to see what other think

I have Crohn's Colitis (Crohn's disease that's strictly in the colon) and have alot more blood then that when I flare and my GI doesn't bat in eye about it. I usually pass all blood and no stool. That's when I know I have/having a flare. Even when I'm not flaring at times I still pass some blood...not often, but I still do. When I tell others that I pass blood they seem more concerned then my GI. I've come to accept that during a flare it's 'normal' for me to pass blood. I also know that when I'm passing blood and possibly going into a flare that my meds may not be working. Maybe it's a sign that the Asacol isn't working??

400mg of Asacol. I am wondering if it is normal to have this amount of blood if you are in remission. Can anyone tell me?

For me...yes it's normal, either in a flare or not. (To me being in remission and not flaring are two totally differnet things. I haven't experienced remission in about 6yrs.) Everyone is different when it comes to Crohn's. For me, passing blood is considered normal so no one freaks out anymore. For others it's not normal. If it's new for you then I would continue to talk to your GI about your concerns.

From January to 2005 to summer of 2008, I pretty much had blood sometimes. Since the summer when I was off Asacol for about 2 days, I started to bleed everyday since then to today.

been doing that much and sometimes more for the better part of 3 years. But I have to wonder if you have internal hemmies, check your c scope report..

Thats a pretty small amount of blood. However, surely, it'd be best if you weren't bleeding because that indicates something is open, which then means you are prone to infection. Try and eat some blander foods and take some probiotics if you aren't. sometimes i bleed if i drink too much alcohol, eat some things that don't agree with my stomach(buffulo sauce), or take certain antibiotics.

I don't think its normal to bleed no matter how small. when i am in remission i never bleed or even note that anything is wrong.

That blood is pretty bright red and makes me wonder if it is from Hemmoroids. Many of us have them. I did look at the picture and can say that it is a first on this site to have someone post a pic:)
