Entocort side effects

Hello all. My Crohns is mild and I have been taking 1200mg of Asacol 3 times a day for the past year. I had a minor flare and my GI put me on 6mg of Entocort 2 times a day in addition to the Asacol. This was about 3 weeks ago. A couple of friends have noticed a change in my mood lately and now I am starting to notice. There are things going on in my normal life, but nothing extreme like a death in the family or the sudden loss of a job. I wonder if my Entocort is causing me to be more irritable, less patient, and less happy in general. Has anyone else experienced mood type changes while on Entocort?

Well it is a steroid, and its supposed to have less systemic side effects. But I wouldn't be surprised if the Entocort was given you the moodiness. I am on Pred, just started it, and so far I haven't noticed anything other than increased appetite. Some folks get little to no side effects on Entocort and others do have some side effects. Hope that helps.

I normally was having 2-3 BMs a day with no blood and no mucus. It increased to 5-6 a day. Mostly D, and on some occasions I was seeing small amounts of blood and mucus. No increase in abdominal pain, which has always been low anyway.

Hi! I am on 6 mg Entocort daily as a maintenance dose for Ileitus. I haven't noticed any mood changes. My only complaints are weight gain and occasional constipation. Do you take your meds in the morning? I take mine at night so it's possible I don't notice some of the side effects because of that. I've read postings on other websites from people who take Entocort and there are definitely some who experience side effects from it. I wish you well.
