Cimzia, how are you doing on it?

I am going to start Cimzia soon and was wondering how the people who take it are doing on it. This will be my first biologic drug, steroids are not working and I've got ulcers in my small intestine now. Happy holidays and thanks.

Tsitodawg, I wonder if we have the same guy come to give the Cimzia shots... I think we're both in Utah. Anyway, I digress...

I've been on Cimzia for 19 days. I got my first shots on Dec. 4. I was lucky, in that it started to help me six days after the first shots. I got great CD symptom relief until two days before I was scheduled for my second set of shots. Those last two days before my second shots weren't fun at all. I got my second set of shots on Dec 18, fully expecting that it would take a week to see any benefit. The next day, I felt much better. Was down to only four BM's that weren't terribly crampy, down from 12 crampy ones the day before. Here it is five days later, and I'm pretty much back into remission. I'm down to 5 mg/day of prednisone, too.

I have had *very* mild (almost not even noticeable) side effects to the Cimzia. Just a touch of a headache a few hours after the shots.

Edit: Bluemeanies, please forgive my computer geekiness, but back in the early days of the Apple Macintosh computer, a "Blue Meany" was a member of the Macintosh development team, so named because they were being mean to "Big Blue", aka IBM. Any correlation between your name and those early Apple Mac guys?
