Hi all,
I've been on 40 mg of Prednisone now for 15 days, and there has been no change in my flare. Still bloody D, cramping, back pain, getting up 5+ times a night, nausea etc. Of course the Dr. office is closed today, so I will call on Monday ASAP to get an appointment. I feel like something should have changed after 15 days of prednisone.

Hi Rachael, If you can't get into see the doctor I would consider going to the ER.

Hi I think something should have gotten better by now too and getting in touch with your Dr. is probably a good idea.Keep in touch and let us know how things are for you. lol gail

I second what the others have said. I stayed on 40 mg for about
two weeks also and nothing happened. My flare got worse and worse until I had lost enough blood and fluid so I couldn't stand or stay awake. I went into the ER and they hooked me up to IV steroids and fluids. The intravenous steroids should help jump start things so that the tablets will work later. That's what they told me anyway.

I agree with L Mills. It took 100MG of IV steriods for 1 week to get it to jump start for me. The pills alone didnt do anything until I had the IV then after that I was fine. =)

I totally agree with eveyrone on here! When i was first diagnosed i was on 40mg of pred for 2 weeks and it was hell..nothing changed..i had bloody diarreah 10 to 12 times a day and was in so much pain..i ended up not being able to get up one morning..had a high fever and was dehydrated (i couldn't even walk!) my doctor told me to rush to the ER immediately..i stayed in the hospital for over 5 weeks...dont let it ever get that bad..get ahold of ur doctor right a way! u can't suffer through this..i learned that the hard way...good luck and i hope u feel better soon!
