Please pray for my Mom

Thank you all for your kind words, prayers and thoughts. Mama was removed from the respirator last night and peacefully passed away at 6:25 pm (PST). Although my heart is truly broken, I know that she is no longer suffering and what an awesome God I have, because I know she is safe in His hands now.

Your prayers all worked, because we, as a family, came together peacefully and respectfully and made the right decision for my Mom. It was a beautiful time for me and my 3 daughters and my wonderful big brother, who has been her main caregiver for many years. We were the only 5 that were with her as she passed, as it was too difficult for the other family members to watch. I cannot tell you how proud I am of my daughters, they stayed right there with her, telling her it was okay, and how much they loved her. I sang one of my favorite Christian songs to her as she slowly slipped away. It truly was a beautiful moment.

Thank you all for being here for me in this very difficult time. I truly love you all.

Oh Nanners, I am so sorry! I will pray for you and your family as you have arrangements to make and services to attend. What a beautiful memory you have of her last few hours on this earth. You will always cherish that. I will pray for strength for you and good crohns days these coming weeks.

Ahhh how sad to me. But you sound like you have completely accepted it and the fact that she is NOT in pain anymore is very comforting. What an amazing attitude you have, although this is so, so hard! Prayers sent your way- lots of them! LOVEPINK

Oh Gail, we truly are bicoastal twins. It was 11 years ago this month that I lay in the bed with my mother and my 2 daughters at my side. I was singing her favorite hymn in her ear while my sister told her it was alright to go. And she passed quietly in her sleep.

I know that your heart is hurting but it will get better over time. I know how strong you all have been to give the gift of a peaceful, gentle passing to your mother. It is the hardest thing I have ever had to do, and the one thing I am the most proud of in my life. Please take care of yourself and rest when you can. You have endured a tremendous loss, but I'm sure your mother would still want you to take care of yourself, especially since you have been flaring a bit.

I am so sorry for your loss Nanners. It has always been my opinion that we are joined in spirit with the ones we love. When one is taken away we feel the pain of that loss because they take part of us with them , but they leave part of themselves with us and through us they live forever. God bless you and your family . May you help each other through this with love.

God bless and keep you and your family, Gail. My prayer is for the very best blessings God has to offer for your Mother. If she is ready to let go, find comfort in the fact that she will no longer be longing for her own Mother. I hope you family can be on the same page, but you and your brother are firm in what Mother would want, so don't suffer over your decisions. Don't look back ( except to hold onto those dear memorys), and take good care of yourself. We love you too.

I had to do the same with Dad and I know I did the right thing for him
He was so full of pain and I could not bear to have him live on machines
