Hi, i'm still relatively new to all this and i was just wondering if with crohn's it is common to have such bad constipation that you almost vomit from it? i was woken up by high pitched gurgling sounds last night and then this morning i was severley constipated and it took forever for anything to come out, i felt like i was going to vomit. things have settled down now but it worried me a little! also does anyone find it hard to keep weight on? i don't have severe diarrhoea but i am losing weight and then if i do gain it back, it goes again. does weight tend to go up and down with crohn's even if it is mild?

i started going to the doctor when i was having constipation issues. i was told to take more fiber and exercise more. when that i didn't work, my doctor started sending me for tests. nothing showed for the longest time, but i still couldn't use the bathroom. finally i ended up in the hospital and was diagnosed. i hadn't eaten any real food in almost a month and it took three days for me to go (and finally get released). i lost about 15 pounds but quickly gained it back after being on prednisone for several months. now i am on humira and dont' have any weight loss issues at all...what medications are you on?

Fibre does aid with D or C but you should always report any changes to your doc because sometimes constipation with CD can be a sign of a blockage/stricture and that's not something you want to take chances with.
