We went on Friday for her consultation, the GI seemed very good, at least that's what I got from speaking with her, she was very informative with my daughter and myself and was equally disgusted that daughters family doc didn't refer her sooner with our family history especially.
She's getting in for a colonoscopy right away too (feb 12) poor kid has to do the colyte 4 L prep, I've never even done it before, I've always done the 45ml phospho, so I don't envy the girl for having to do the 4L jug of what I'm sure tastes like crap as well.
They're going to use a pediatric scope on her because my daughters very small framed (she's 5'3") little thing and the GI wants to make her as safe and comfortable as possible, she was good at sharing exactly what they'll be using to put her to sleep ( with the long list of those meds I couldn't remember the 2 she said she was going to use).
Bottom line is I feel very confident so far with this lady GI and as a mom that has made a world of difference so I'm just keeping fingers crossed they don't find an IBD or anything eles that's serious or hard to manage, but I'm sure that's more wishful hoping then reality on my part.
I'm hoping to be able to go into the room with her, but if not the GI already said she'd be taking biopsies and lots of pics throughout for us to see.
I'll be updating after her scope is done, by then she'll have gotten her blood results back too.
:)
