Any update on our Australian friends?

It's cooler today, so the fire fighters are trying to do backburning and consolidate their fire breaks before things get hotter on Friday and the weekend.

No current urgent fire alerts thanks to some rain and cooler weather, though a few communities are still needing to be vigilant.

Death toll is stable but likely to skyrocket at some point soon.

I am glad you are getting a little bit of a break!!  Why do you think the death toll will go up?  Maybe they haven't had a chance to search the affected areas?  Very sad.       

Since Im not able to do much to help the victims of the fire at least I could give some money. I believe so far us Aussies have raised a cool 50 mill to help them rebuild their lives and that sum keeps climbing too, which is great. It breaks my heart seeing it all on tv and the wildlife loss has been huge too. take care all

I am loving the story about Sam, I loved the pictures of her drinking from the Firemans water bottle. I feel so sad not only about the innocent lives lost, but all the wildlife lost too. Very sad situation.
