Imuran - could this be a side effect?

Hello all,

I need some advise before i run to my doc.

I started imuran 3 months ago and am on 150daily.

I have been getting severe pain in both my shoulders which spread down as far as my hands. I also get an uncomfortable feeling under my left shoulder blade - like its making me out of breath. I have never had this before i started the imuran.

I went to the doc and she said it was muscle pain and gave me pain killers. I feel as if its my bones aching - not my muscles.

So my quesiton is has anyone else had this from the imuran? and do you think i should go back to my doc with it?

Last month Ivy - they were pretty normal - nothing out of the ordinary showed up as far as what the GI said.

i should also mention im getting pain in the heels of my feet and stiffness/clicking in both my knees.
I tapered off prednisolone in december

This does not sound like a side-effect of imuran, at least not one that I am aware of.

How long have you had crohn's? Have you ever had extra-intestinal symptoms?

I was diagnosed with Crohns last year but i have a strong suspicion i went undiagnosed for years.
I never suffered with Joint pains until i actually got diagnosed. The gi just brushes them off as "something that goes hand in hand with Crohns".
The pain i am in now only started up since Christmas.

i was on imuran i had to come off it i was very sick could not holdany food
down so they tryed me on puri-nethol 50mg i am o that about 4 months
now so far so good thank god hope thats some help to you

It might be time to go see an arthiris doc.
