Haven't been around much. Tired a lot. Typing tends to hurt a lot as well. My first year's appointment is up (from being diagnosed). I don't have the money to pay back the GI bill from when I had my fourth surgery. They gave me a month's worth of pentasa. I'm on 32 hours of work a MONTH due to scheduling. I'm being sued for a medical bill I never knew I had from 2004. I hurt all the time and the rheumy appointment is still off in April. This I've learned in the past 24 hours. YAY. I'm sitting here, crying...and hurting in my heart. Should NEVER have watched SiCKO the other night for the first time. Watching that and then getting slammed like this...I feel broken. All Humpty-Dumpty and there's no way to put it all back together again. To top it off, I'm flaring this morning something awful and I've run out of Ensure. I just feel so done. Done with it all. I'm ranting and I try not to rant or think about anything but good things lately. But I just can't right now. I can't afford to see the GI when it isn't covered by the insurance my hubby got through his work until October when it WILL be covered. I'm only making $200-300 a month. I'd get another job if I honestly thought I could do MORE work. What work I do, exhausts me by the end of a four hour shift and when I work eight hours, I hurt so bad, I don't know what to do. Because we went for the more expensive health insurance plan, my husband is making about $500 each check and he gets paid every two weeks. I've been feeling those awful depression feelings and I just...what the hell can I do? Awwww...C'MON...I think I've got menstral cramps too.

Just wanted to send out (((GIANT HUGS))) to you. I am so sorry you are hurting so bad. Is there anyway you could put a call into your family doc and see if they could prescribe something for the pain and depression. I think that alone would go a long way in helping you to feel better. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but know I am praying hard for you.

Awh you poor woman. I really am sorry that you are getting it so hard. As nanners said, can you not phone the family doctor and see if there is anything that he can do for you? You need to get some helkp from somewhere. I will pray for a good ending for you through this current mess.

I have an appointment tomorrow. The thing is...I'm a timid patient. I go in and downplay what my life is like so I won't seem pathetic. Ridiculous I know. I've always been this way (which explains why I always end up needing surgery whenever I give in and go to the ER). I'll ask my GP tomorrow if he can keep the pentasa going for now. He's known my family for a long time so maybe there's a chance I won't get slammed with needing a new GI. I'm so tired. Every night for a week now, I wake up five-six hours into sleep because my hands are sort of frozen into place and it hurts. I never did get back to bed this morning...well. I got into bed and rested and lay there for a couple hours 'cause that's what I do. Ache and feel the bed vibrate from the throbbing in my joints. So, here's going to see how my doctor feels about pain meds for me. He's already given me eight days worth for a few weeks. I tried to do without them...and it hurts. It's 14 tylenol compared to 4 pain meds. Not to mention I get bile salt D with the tylenol in that amount. And I can better regulate my bowel movements when I have that added push of codeine. Heck, ya'll haven't seem me around much because when I've had a round of pain meds, I'm up and about. I'm planning a garden I can't dig. I'm taking walks to keep my ankles and toes and hips and back joints from aching so much.

Thank you both so much for your thoughts and hugs. I just feel so crazy sometimes. With it all. I'm constantly afraid with the pain meds of addiction. I'm super worried about what I'm going to do when I need a pentasa refill. I'm worried I should add some form of antidepressent to the drug cocktail or if I should try to remember my multivitamin more and see if that helps. Gah...I'm tired and I only get a few hours sleep again. Here's hoping. And thanks again for listening.

Do try and remember the multi, the B vits are so important for mood. If you can get some, fish oil or fish oil caps help with the hip, knee and joint pain some, I can't bear to go without. You might also have a frank talk with your pharmacist, he or she may be able to gain the cooperation of the Pentasa maker and provide some for you at low or even no cost. Try to keep your head up, come here often for support and hopefully you will have some better days soon.

Hi Joie Hope your visit to the Dr. goes good and that some help can be gotten for you.Not being able to sleep wears a person out more then anything ...Wish I had a magic wand so help would be on the way.. what about calling the med people and seeing if they can help ? Things will get better and let us know how you are...lol gail

I'm really sorry to hear about everything you're going through. It must be very frustrating not knowing when you're going to start seeing the end of the tunnel when it comes to all of your problems. You wrote that you downplay everything to the doctor. I understand how hard it can be to show your weaknesses, at least that's how I feel sometimes, but it is important to let him/her know exactly what's going on. I was thinking maybe you could print out what you wrote in this post. That could start a really good conversation with the doctor and you wouldn't have to tell him anything, just sit there while he reads! It might be worth a shot anyway!

I hope you start feeling better soon.

I'm sort of better. The GP put me on prednisone for a time. I have to quit taking it two weeks before I visit the rheumatologist so we get clear results. The doctor also gave me a refill on pain meds. I'm TRYING to remember about the multiv. Also, its the GI I can't afford to see. I owe him a huge bill. They're planning on stopping the pentasa until I see him which I'm hoping I can talk them into continuing the Pentasa while I try to pay the bill and then see him in November (mainly because that's after Oct. when the pre-existing stuff for insurance ends). My GP said if I talked to them, they should continue it if I mention that its going to take me a long time to pay back the bill since a person could always sue over something like being taken off maintenance meds. I only pay $35 on the pentasa now. Thank you insurance.

think ya kinda need it. I wish there was more I could do, but sometimes just talking here is a great help. I really hope the prednisone works for you (it's a great drug, but can make my emotions a little off).

You've had so much happen to you in just a short time...anyone would suffer...and the current economic conditions...wonder if our fearless leaders can read some of these posts a this site...just saying, IMHO it is perfectly natural to feel as you do, so cry if you want to, it's your party(don't remember who sang that song. quite a bit before my time, but it works)...
