Sept 07 started having rt side abdominal pain, nausea. Had every test imaginable, finally had surgery, Ileocecectomy in July 08...everything seemed to be going good, I felt much better...guess what...its back, same exact pain, nausea...So far, another ultrasound today, the tech told me that everything looked ok, but I should wait to hear from my GI doctor.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what this could possibly be? Could this just be a flare up? I seen my GI last week, just so he could see me and check for an obstruction, but he really don't think its that...ANY ADVICE...please..please..please

Hi Kelly Since it's not a obstruction it might be some sign's of crohn's activity going on or infection... a person would be guessing until you get some advice from your GI ...are you on any meds now for maintenance? Will be hoping it's not going to last too long.. lol gail

Yes, I am on Humira, I have been on that since Dec 07...well, I guess it would just be better to wait till I hear from my GI..prob just a few more days...Thanks

Hi Kelly I see you are on Humira, how do you find that for a crohn's med and do you think it is helping you? Any word yet on what the Dr. thinks it might be perhaps try low roughage for a few days to see if it helps... lol gail

I think taking it easy until you can see your GI is a good idea.

It could definitely be "just" a flare-up, like you said Eran, but that's no small deal if you're hurting and nauseated like you are. Sometimes, if you have scar tissue from past inflammation, certain parts of your intestines will be more narrow - making it painful when food passes that spot because it doesn't really fit... it could be that too... it could be so many things.

Do you feel that the Humira has been helping? I noticed that you said you've been on it since December 2007, but you've been through surgery and other agony since then... maybe the effectiveness of the Humira is something you need to talk about with your doc too?

I know it's a pain when you keep getting bounced around from one test to another doc, to another place, to another doc - but if you're in serious pain and the Ultrasound showed nothing, the only thing left is to talk to your GI, and it sounds from your first post like you just saw him without anything very helpful being learned... If you don't figure out something soon, maybe it's time for a new GI? A new opinion and perspective on things can make a world of difference...

Thank you all for your responses...I am gonna chat with my GI about switching my meds...I have tried Pentasa, now on Humira, maybe the next step is Remicade?? I have also considered either switching GI docs or just going to someone else for a 2nd opinion...
