Hey all
Was curious what the deal is with not being able to tolerate any solid foods. In my Crohn's tenure (6 years), I've never not been able to eat anything solid. It usually was narrowed down a bit to a certain set of "trigger" foods. So this is a whole new and *exciting* development. I'm trying to grasp just how bad this is. I feel ok otherwise, just a bit tired. I can tolerate a full liquid diet and noodles in soups. Anything beyond that I get pretty intense crampy pain, rumbles, and liquid diarrhea. Sometimes this is within an hour of eating, other times it takes a while and wakes me up early in the morning to hit the bathroom. No blood from what I can tell.
I'm not on any meds at this time. My most previous med was Humira, which worked very well. I went off of it about
6 months ago. My last GI appt was a week ago, and at that I felt fine. This hit me Monday and I'm still going strong unfortunately. I've put myself on a full liquid diet as of yesterday, including protein shakes. I tried to eat tuna and crackers for dinner, which normally is a safety food, and I was in the bathroom in quite a bit of pain within 2 hours.
I haven't called my doc yet. I have a scope in a few weeks and figured I'd try to get this under control by then, and then we could discuss this nonsense. Er I mean fun.
Thanks for any tips.
