Hey everyone,
I thought I'd give you the skinny on what's going on with the PG treatment. I went in for my morning IV therapy and saw the dr today. I am finished with the IV antibiotics and am making the switch to oral steroids this afternoon. I will go on 60 mg of Prednisone for 3 days, 40 mg for 3 days, 20 mg for 3 days, 10 mg for 3 days, and 5 mg for 3 days. I will continue putting the silver sulfadine cream on daily. I received my Cimzia injections on Friday and the PG ulcer looks like it has finally stopped growing!! It is still raw and sore, put at least progression seems to have stopped. I'm having some trouble getting my potassium to regulate at an acceptable level, but that's minor compared to other issues. I really feel fortunate to have got on top of this so quickly and am thankful to the kimmy team of dr's. I still have the PICC line in and they say it will probably stayin another 2 weeks until we're sure my body will take to the oral meds. I can't wait to take a 2 handed shower again, you don't realize how much you take for granted until things like this happen!
