Hi all

I am wondering if constipation is a 'symptom' of chron's disease? I have just being diagnoised with this illness and am very worried about it.....anyhow if you could let me know I would appreciate it. I will not be on line as I am going back to the UK for a whiile but will check in.

Hi,

Yes...constipation can be a symptom of  Crohn's....I go back and forth between diar. and const... I am pretty new to this also....There are lots of people here that will help you!!

It seems that C is the lesser known symptom of Crohn's. DS 13 went undiagnosed for over a year by his pediatrician who only tested for Crohn's when ds fell way off his growth chart...

Constipation can be a symptom of crohn's as odd as it seems only because even in the media (which isn't enough exposure to this disease) they only ever speak of crohnies having severe D all the time, when infact there are plenty of crohnies that have only ever experianced constipation and never even experianced D.

I go back and forth and frankly feel worse with the Con. than the D. That's just me. But thru stool softeners and diet I can control them both a lot better these days.
