Hi All,

in need of some advice. Since having a temp stoma in jan iam really struggling to put on weight and yet i eat really well the output is ok and only needs emptying twice a day so i don't know why iam still the weight i was when i came out of hossy in jan.Iam 3 1/2 stone lighter than i should be for my height i feel like i am constantly fighting a losing battle any suggestions would be appreciated thanks Bev x

yeah Hi crohnielass i don't know what to tell you keep eatting if you feel good enough to its hard to gain weight with this disease the only sure fire thing i know is predisone and you don't need that do you? Can you eat anything you want without having pain if so try eating some high fat goods or some take out like MacDonalds that will put the weight on for sure. Good luck gaining have fun get some ice cream to god i wish i was you right now i think i would sell my soul for fast food or any thing high in fat for that matter. Your Friend Jenn smilewinkgrin

Thanks Jenn, im on no meds yet but see surgeon next week also was meant to be starting remi still waiting for GI to ring hopefully that may help as well thanks again.  Bevx

Hi jenn, i had two resections in jan and also had a fistula operated on the surgeon is going to check everything is healed which i think the resections have but the fistula is still leaking so thats why they are trying the remi to try and close it hopefully he will give me a date to get this stoma reversed and soon i hope really can't be doing with it as its retracted and is a nightmare to manage god i feel a right moany but looking at what you've been through i have nothing to moan about. you must be rattling with all them meds take care hun Bev x wink

smilewinkgrin  Good evening Crohnielass sorry to hear about your fistula there a real bummer i had one under my abcess and had a sineot put in to tie it open so it would heal nothing seemed to work for me so they put me on Remicade and after the 3rd infusion they were able to take the sineot out it healed right away i hope you have the same luck.
