Just came back from my yearly checkup and the Dr. wants to run another small bowel follow thru.  I know they need to check since it is about 4 years since my last surgery.  I'm not having any heavy pains just a bit of discomfort but I attribute that to the stress I'm going thru.  It never gets easier and what gets to me every time I go through testing, digging and  prodding I find myself so worried about the results and it always seems to take so long from the time they book your tests, then having to wait for results, then having to wait for a Dr.s appt to get those results

I know I'm not the only one and I feel for all of you.

I think you are just being human....of course you are going to worry about the results. Try to look at is as reassurance that you are still on the right track with the illness. **hugs**

I agree with you,
At least when your feeling not-so-bad the tests are a breeze...
And like most crohnie's you set record time on the small bowel follow through...

Would you feel comfortable getting copies of your lab results without having to wait for yet another apt.?

My doc's nurse faxes or mails my lab and test results to me as soon as she gets them. I talked it over with my doc, of course, and his only concern was that I would understand the "results". I guess I've picked up enough of the lingo over the years that I can read a CT scan report pretty well, among others. My doc includes a note with the results as to whether or not we need to talk about anything.

I don't know if that would work in your situation... and I know my doc is a rare breed and some wouldn't go along with it. But it was just a thought. I hope you get your results soon.

Thank you lol, first I need them to set up an appointment for the SBFT. Around here those appointments don't come quickly but hope I'm wrong this time.

Yes, that would be great to get the results mailed provided that the doctor does leave a note should I need to be seen. Your doctor is a rare breed. I don't think they do that around here.

The radiologist usually leaves an explanation on top of the front page when they return results to the doctor and that is pretty clear to understand even if the rest of it doesn't make sense.

In 2006 I had pre cancerous cells on my cervix and had little operation.
I have to go every 6 months for a check up and I know I will be fine but I always worry for the two weeks I am waiting for the results.

And I always promise my self not to worry so much but still end up biting my nails the whole time out of stress..
Except for the last time I went, probably because now I have bigger things to worry about.

I think it is normal for us to be a little stressed.
