On Humira and Flaring, tell me this doesn't mean the Humira stopped working!

I'm almost afraid to ask.... Humira is the only thing that has been able to get me into remission, since I started it in October, my tummy has been great, but two days ago I started to flare. Does this necessarily mean the Humira has stopped working or can you still have an occasional flare while taking Humira? Anyone with input on this, I would really appreciate hearing from, it's killing me to wait to talk to my doctor about this! Thank you,

It's possible. You may need to try weekly shots. Good luck!

I think you can flare while you're still on Humira. It does not necessarily mean that it has stopped working for you. A short course of steroids may help control the flare, and let you continue with the same course of treatment. Or perhaps while the flare continues as Rider Fan said, going to weekly shots will bring the flare under control again.

Also, have you considered that this is not a flare but some other problem causing the "tummy" trouble. Perhaps you picked up a virus, ate something less than fresh, or some other non-Crohn's cause. This happened to me a couple times when on biologics. After 3-4 days I was back to my new, good self. Of course, if you continue to have symptoms, contact your GI sooner than later. Best to get something to nip this before you flare totally out of control.
