Well, I'm going in this morning to have an abdominal abscess drained. I'm sort of nervous. I hope it doesn't hurt too bad. Just venting, Tony

I think its less painful to have it drained out then to live with the abscess.

Don't worry, it is not that painful. I have got it drained several times. Rather I have the experience of needle, surgical blade, forceps, to drain out my abscess.

Well Im all done. It wasnt that bad. All the pressure in my belly is gone. Thank God. Now I have a tube sticking out of my belly and down my leg into a collection thingy. I cant believe I didnt even have to get undressed. They just pulled my shorts down alittle and my shirt up, did an ultrasound, then cleaned and dressed the area for the procedure. It was over in less than 20 minutes. Im relieved that it's over. And PSA, your right. Now that the pressure is off and all that gunk is out of there I feel much better. Have a good day all. Tony

Glad to hear it went well and wasn't that bad. Now you just be sure to rest up, you did have a little surgery, so take care of yourself and don't over do. Did you see the stuff they drained out?

yes I did. it was kind of whitish. The doctor was very funny. He held it up and said "yum, ice cream" I started laughing and told him to quit because it hurt to laugh. He was a very neat guy. I asked him if this was going to hurt and he said he could have his nurse sing, that that would hurt much worse. Funny guy.

Glad it's over and went so well. My husband had an abscess drained once after a ruptured appendix and he felt better very quickly.

I keep forgetting I'm talking to people all over the world on this sight. You guys feel like neighbors to me. Isn't that kinda cool?
