Hi formedstooler!
I wish you all the luck with your prep and colonoscopy. I just went through this myself Monday & Tuesday. Not fun, and glad it's over with!! Just out of curiosity, do you use the 4 litre prep (NuLytely)? Years ago I tried the smaller volume stuff (Magnesium Citrate??), but I thought it would kill me. I know the larger volume preps are easier on the system.
Sorry to hear about the problems you experienced while traveling recently. In responding to your comment and concerns about traveling in the future, first off, I can certainly understand your being leery about it. I am the worry wart of all worry warts (or I should say USED to be), and I've learned to take only ONE day or ONE problem at a time. Believe it or not, I think having Crohn's has actually helped in that regard!!
I wouldn't discount the idea of traveling again in the future---that would be sad. In planning for your next trip, maybe you'll have more information about what sets off your flares so that hopefully you can avoid some of those things or lessen their impact. Or better yet, maybe you'll be fortunate enough to be in remission! Who knows?! Probably the best input I can give right now, is to just keep in mind that since flares can happen anywhere at anytime, why not take the chance and possibly have some fun (traveling) while in the process!
Hope this helps, and hope all goes well for you tomorrow! Keep us posted, OK?
