Double billing

I just noticed that when I get a CT scan, my insurance is getting billed for 1. Abdominal ct scan and 2. A Pelvic scan. Are you kidding me? $574.00 times 2 each time. Even though it is the same scan. Can I protest this??? Good grief?

They are two separate scans. You can have a CT of your abdomen or a CT of your pelvis so even though they do them both at the same time, it's billed as 2 separate body parts. It seems like one to you because you're in the scanner but the person running the scanner has to do 2 exams. Crazy, I know!
