Hi All,
I have just been for my visit at the hospital to have my stoma checked and see the gastro, and get blood test results. I have also been suffering with swollen and sore joints that I spoke to the doc about today. I honestly feel like crying at the moment, I just cant believe how much this disease is attacking me. Since having my ileostomy done I did improve and felt fantastic and I must say I still do feel a lot better than I used to but this joint pain and my eyes have also been inflamed, I have been on steroid eye drops that have helped. Now with my joints my doc couldnt believe how swollen my hands and ankles are, i am having pain all over my body and apparently its caused from crohns/colitis still being present in my rectum, that was left when they did the ileostomy in case of a reversal but they have said it definately cant happen for me because the disease would then go crazy through my small bowel, so the sooner they remove the rectum the better although i really dont want another surgery. I am getting scared that this disease will never let me go. I am also extremely anemic and was put on iron pills and they drew some more blood today to check for possible rheumatoid arthritis amongst other things. Also my liver readings are going through the roof again but i had a liver biopsy about 12 months ago and they said it was inflamation as well from the DD. Will this disease ever let go? I dont have much bowel left, u would think it would go but it seems its not done with me yet. I wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy. Oh if i am still badly anemic with the next lot of blood work done then i will have to have iron infusions they said. Sorry this is long winded, just feel like im about to hit rock bottom again and dont know where else to turn. Thanks for being there
