So today is our 20th wedding anniversary (I know, hard to believe someone could be married to me that long eh) anyways, I'm so excited cuz my hubby bought me the most beautiful necklace and I just love it...and him too of course.

Hey pb4 that is wonderful. You also have given me something to look forward to...we just went out for our 4 1/2 year anniversary---our anniversary is in the dead of winter so sometimes we travel on the half year. For our anniversary I got a summer bobsled ride...15 more years to get jewelry huh???

Congratulations!!! Its wonderful to hear of people sticking it out and still being happy. My husband and I are still together and happy too, it doesn't happen often enough. Enjoy!

yup habs 15 more for jewellery (I guess) there's some list of what you're suppose to get each wedding anniversary, paper, jewellery, ect but I don't know that list very well (I should check it out).

you guys are right, that is a long time, especially when you consider we've basically been together for 27 yrs, I was 15 and he was 14 when we met (at a shopping mall, not too surprising considering how much I always loved shopping LOL). When it was our 20 yr anniversary (7 yrs ago) for when we started dating he bought me a beautiful eternity band...needless to say, he's an excellent jewellery shopper, has amazing taste.

Bottom line, for all the things we've been through together over the many, many yrs, we are still toegther, have 2 beautiful kids (one girl, one boy) and have battled through some tough things, my CD being one of them so either we are very committed to each other or should be committed to the nut house LOL! Love is a funny thing.

But isn't love grand??? I have known my husband over 33 years (1 daughter together) but we had a 20 separation in there and now have been married 10 years this October. Men/Women who love us Crohnies are special people in my eyes. I am so happy for you PB4!

Yes it is grand Nanners, your story sounds really romantic, a 20 yr seperation only to be together again, that's so sweet!!! I'm happy for you as well Nanners!!!

I wanted to add, my Husband's Grandmother loved the whole specific gift for each year of marriage thing. She gave us paper plates for our first anniversary, a cast iron skillet for which ever anniversary that is, and so on. On the last anniversary we were blessed to have her with us, she gave us a cut crystal dish that was given to her for her wedding by a family friend. She had been married for over 60 years at the time and it was an antique when it was given to her. That she chose to give it to me instead of her grand daughter just brought me to tears. But I suppose she knew it would end up in one of her great grand daughters hands. If only they can appreciate it as much when they get it on their crystal wedding anniversary! Which ever one gets there first. So now I'm in tears again....

Happy Anniversary again!! I hope Hubby is taking you out for dinner too!

That's cut Zanne, paper plates LOL! Obviously your grandmother-in-law holds you dear to her heart, what a touching story I'm glad you shared. And yes, he took me for supper and we rented Gran Torino (didn't think much of the movie though).

How wonderful! Congrats! I am getting married in just over a month and sometimes its hard thinking how our future will be effected by Crohn's. Sometimes its hard thinking that anyone would want to share in the multiple issues that this disease brings. But it is so nice to see that despite the hardships Crohn's brings to a marrige it CAN be worked through! :)

Well congratulations on your upcomming wedding Mer! I didn't get sick until about a yr after we had our first baby, that alone made it hard not to mention still being newlyweds, but like I said, we had a 7 yr history before we got married so I guess his love was already deeply set for me LOL!

Oh congrats pb4!! That is wonderful, I wish you many many more.

We just celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary on Monday, guess I'll have to hold out till the 20th for a beautiful necklace! I did get a nice dinner and movie though. :)
