well I can give you a list of what I eat -- I don't really do mealtimes and you need to keep in mind that I have a low metabolism because of some genetic fluke and menopause.... so others might have to eat more to maintain weight. When I worry about losing weight (like now, because I ahve a surgery coming up) I eat ice cream. The actual solid factor of my diet, depends on the space I have in my intestines at the time.
One note: I lived on smoothies and soup for 2 years. What I've going to write below is a more expanded version because that diet was strict liquid only I've found I can use pain and obstruction as a guide to what I can eat, I think the expanded version is more potentially helpful (below)
smoothie: either amazing green, rainbow light vanilla -- basically rice-based protein or pea rice protein -one serving.
(I avoid gluten/whey/soy in these powders - - but one could use anything with a good vitamin and protein base -- I try different ones)....
with SCD yogurt, or stonyfield, depending on my yogurt stash and: a banana and another fruit. I drink about 12-16 ounces of this and I blend the bejeezus out of it. You can also use frozen fruit and a banana.
you can also add some fruit juice... or a tsp of peanut or almond butter -- This start of the day gives me enough of everything that I need that I feel satisfied and not hungry at all. Over time I have discovered that protien is the key to not feeling like I want to eat everything in sight.
Then I usually go to the healthfood store and get a fresh carrot/celery/parsley juice at lunchtime. I also alternate with other greens and also get a shot of wheatgrass about 4x a week.
Around mid day I also either have some hummus, white bean dip, or if I'm in really good shape black bean dip with simple corn chips --or if my strictures are really swollen -- get this -- I eat hummus/white bean/blackbean diluted in plain yougurt (seriously this is really good, I know it sounds crazy, but it is sometimes I put in a little salsa or tomato) and maybe with chips depending on how i feel! Fruit if I feel like it, ice cream if I need to. some cheese melted on some chips, home made apple sauce (apples with no peels, baked with a little maple syrup and blended)
or -- again depending on my state of being: tuna w/a little mayo and pepper, or other kind of light fish, if Im doing really well, I can eat chicken salad and stuff like that. Salsa on a good day, with cheese melted on chips. Soups. baked potato (no skin), boiled or mashed potatoes.
Soup: make a base or buy one (I use whole foods house brand veggie broth, as i discovered all broths taste pretty much the same in the end) OR I save scraps of veggies in my freezer (ends of squash, carrots etc) and boil up my own. easy and good, strain it. Then I add, potatoes, and whatever other veggies I can tolerate (often frozen), quick cook them up and then blend the heck out of it. Some good combos:
1-black beans (canned), celery chopped fine, (optional - onions or a little frozen corn - cheese!!)
2-potatoes, frozen corn, some parsley or spinach or kale (not too much)
3-chicken potatoes yadayada
then make sure its pureed in the blender. You can imagine your own combos!
- if you're not gluten free you can also add crackers crumbled up in here when you eat it.
Again if I am doing well I also cook lentils to add to the soup, and I like to add curry, and I get poppodoms at my grocery - lentil crackers you cook in the microwave for 30 seconds.
I could go on and on here, but I think you get the idea.
So, theory-wise, assuming you've taken this to the liquid state (blend blend) except for the special additions (crackers poppodoms chicken) you're still liquid. Or liquidish, depending on that blending and your state of wellness. Anything can be liquid if it's pureed and there is a liquid base which you can adjust to how liqiod the liquid is.
anyway, I could go on, but before I do, I want to make sure this is helpful to you jhicks.
For me on a strict liquid diet, it would be 2 smoothies a day (beginning and end), veggie juice in the middle, ice cream, and the pureed soups with veggies only.
I also take a vitamin for good luck, a veggie based iron pill a couple of times a week, and I used a b-12 skin cream, which I've replaced wth b-12 shots.
I have also found a couple of caps of olive leaf extract totally keep candida at bay.
have a great day.
