For us OLDER women.. has anyone seen a change in symptoms ( better or worse) with the onset of menapause.  I know sometimes with pregnancy, cd does get better but does that occur in menapause?

I wonder the same thing too, I'm going on 42 but before you know it menopause will soon become a huge change in my life and I just hope it's a good one for my CD.

Hi.

My surgeon once told me that the crohns should settle down with menopause. He saw it many times in other patients. I'm going to hold him to that, lol!

Menopause is when mine kicked in, so I'm guessing it goes by the individual. Mine was stressful because it was a surgical one, and I could not take any hormones. It's been 10 years.

I was not diagnosed until after I had been through menopause but it was probably there without my knowing it. Maybe that's why I didn't have Crohn's symptoms? I never experienced night sweats until I was put on Prednisone and well past menopause.

I would guess that in my case I have had crohns for 18 years and am in menapause and mine has just kicked in to a whole different level for me. Mine is at it personal worst because it has moved into the last few feet of my rectum. I feel worse than ever before, I am on hormone treatment and on prednisone. So Im guessing no it doesnt get better during menapause,not for me anyway.Hopefully for yo it will .

When you say it moved into your recturm.... are u in pain???  i am finding  that I am more miserable NOT because of the bowel stuff but more of the pain and discomfort in my rectum as well.. starts off with cramp like stuff (  PMSY feeling) and never gets better!
