Nausea - causes?

Hi all,

I seem to be developing new Crohn's symptoms (lucky me, just when I think I've got it figured out).  On the 4th of July I experienced overwhelming pain in the ileum area accompanied with nausea (no vomiting) and a fever of 102.  The sudden onset had me pretty scared.  But, I popped a few steroids and in a few days felt better. 

We're doing a scope in a few weeks to see if the doc can see the ileum or what's going on there.  If he can't, we'll do an upper or a CT.

Anyway, in the past week I have been super nauseous.  This is not accompanied by any new pain and things are "moving along" normally.

What has been your experiences with the cause of nausea?  Also, Pepto Bismo doesn't seem to be helping.  Does anyone else have suggestions?

For several years now, nausea is my first cue that I'm going to have to make a quick trip to the bathroom. I suddenly feel a wave of nausea, which is very quickly followed by the need to find a bathroom immediately. I also feel nauseated at the end of virtually every meal. I have no idea what it means, but I know it happens on a daily basis--and I don't like it.

I do not get it quite the same way as some of the people here though , i think mine may be some kind of mental block of my brain not wanting me to eat as i often get it when i look at or even smell food , often when my mum is talking about what will be for dinner i am over come with nausea even at the though of it , has anyone else experienced tis ?

Another thing that can cause nausea is acid reflux or GERD. If you feel better after you eat, then your stomach starts getting sick again as it empties, then for me at least, it was GERD. I didn't have acid burning up my esophagus, I just had a knawing nauseaous stomach. Started on my Prilosec and that is much better.
