I left my last specialist because it seemed nothing was being done. I wasn't looking for aggressive treatment, but there were no new recommendations or thoughts for over two years. He also never checked in after I visited his office during a severe gallbladder attack (at the time I did not know what it was and it felt the same as when my intestines ruptured. My husband drove me to hospital from docs office instead of an ambulance the RN was going to call). I felt under cared for.
The GI I switched to is less helpful. Not only does he not discuss ways to help current problems, but he only has one answer for all problems. Every office visit starts with...So when are we starting Remicade. As i said before, I won't use it unless I am really sick. Well, I think you should start it. Then everything else I say disappears into thin air. I have not seen my specialist since last summer despite some mini flares that might have been helped.
I love my GP...he understands my lists and questions and helps. GP gave me the name of another GI, but he is hard to get into. I am debating going back to the first GI with my tail between my legs (maybe I was wrong to leave). I could go back and just know I have to ask more questions. Or do I push to get into the new guy? I am waffling and indecisive here.....any input?
