I am new to this forum and have been reading alot about Humira. I have had Crohns for over 30 years, had 3 resections and been on numerous meds. I choose not to stay on drugs for long just b/c nothing seems to help that much. I usually just take Prednisone for bad flareups which usually helps. I currently have an anal fistula, don't know much about this, my doctor is wanting me to go on Humira which I am very reluctant to do b/c of side effects. I tried Remicade a few years ago and had bad reactions to it and Dr. won't let me take it anymore. I am just not sure I can do the Humira b/c of fear. I'm confused as to whether Humira actually heals the fistula and if the problems return if you stop the Humira. Also, I am probably the only Crohns patient I know of that is overweight but I am (maybe due to Pred, maybe not??) Anyway, I have read some entries that say they gain weight on Humira-- haven't been told of that side effect from Dr. so just wondering about it. I know we are all different and Crohns and meds affect us all differently, but just concerned about even trying Humira. Thanks for your help!
