Brother might have crohn's

I've had Crohn's forever and i know what if feels like to live with it. To have all kinda ups and downs.

My brother had been having cramps and diarhea for about 2 months now. He finally went to see the doctor. They did a CT scan and saw patches of inflammation here and there throughout the intestine but mainly where the small bowel and colon meets. He's scheduled for a colonoscopy for Tuesday.

What are the chances that he does NOT have Crohn's? I don't know what to think. I wouldn't wish this disease to my worst enemy so thinking that my lil brother might have it just really frustrates me. He's feeling all right now but this disease is just so unpredictable. If it is crohn's how do i even prepare him to that?

Sounds like a pretty clear-cut case of Crohn's to me. It's good that he's finding out before it gets worse i.e. bowel obstruction. Not sure there's any way to prepare someone, considering it basically alters the rest of your life.

I would just try to be there for your little brother and answer any questions he may have. A friend at work has a sister with RA and my friend just got diagnosed with the same. She tells me all the time her sister has been a godsend because she answers all her questions and makes her feel more at ease. Hugs to you both!

So sorry your brother may have this dreadful disease  how old is he? like nanners i agree to be there for him. hope his colonoscopy goes well and  if there is still inflammation they can then get him on some meds before it gets out of hand. let us know how he gets on.  Bev x

He's 23. It doesn't seem to be so bad so far but who knows how it progresses.

I just find it very frustrating because my older brother has it also. He got a resection about 15 years and has been in great shape since then. No meds nothing. It's like he never had it. He has a completely normal life.

My uncle had it too and my aunt too. So it runs in the family from my dad's side. Just really depressing. Chances are that when i have kids they're likely to develop it also at some point in their live. :(
