My daughter's bloodwork showed a sed rate of 3 - in the past ten labs, since mid-2006, it has never been below 8.
CRP was 1.25 - tends to range between below .6-2.0 unless she has a virus or bacterial infection.
Everything else normal, except low ferritin and vitamin D which, in her case, are always low.
The main take-aways seem to be:
a) the LDN is not doing harm
b) the unusually low (for her) sed rate indicates it might be doing good
Since she never has D or pain, which are held in check by Entocort, we have to go by labs, SBFTs, and colonoscopies to see whether something is working. Also, she took a "leaky gut" test (Genova Labs) efore starting the LDN and the test did show a "leaky gut," otherwise known as intestinal permeability due to inflammation. So, theoretically, if the LDN works, then the test should be negative for intestinal permeability.
So the plan is: a) blood work and "leaky gut" test after 8th week on LDN and b) depending upon what the tests say, decide whether to try to taper off Entocort.
