Fistulas

Hi...I have a fistula too..its a result of a peri-rectal abscess and its causing me lots of problems..i have had a huge grapefruit size peri-rectal abscess followed by a ishio-rectal horseshoe shaped abscess..followed by getting I&D inside of the surgeons office with a local...over and over and over...until finally they said you have a fistula..and then i had it for eight years..then it abscessed under the skin next to it..and stopped draining..after I went up and down on Plaquenil and took Cipro...had it cut open..had a rubber seton...nothing but problems..turned out i was allergic to it the rubber..had that removed..put in a silk seton..which is causing some irritation..but more..the damage done by the rubber seton..has caused a rash that won't really go away..two fissures and what appears to be a skin tag...most likely from the fissure...spasms of pain in the anus...its a constant problem and i hate the seton..life was better risking having an abscess with a hole on my buttock..now i find out my surgeon is a general surgeon not a colon rectal surgeon not board certified..lucky for me before he was about to possibly remove this thing altogether..and i need to find another surgeon..who can help me get my life back and i am about a week away from Remicade...i know all about these things and i wish you luck and i really understand just how horrible it truly is
